The project is to advocate for women, children and families in the fight against preventable diseases as well as mobilizing communities, strengthening their capacity and using their own resources for acceptable and sustainable projects. Volunteers will promoting safer sex through education and communications; providing caring and support to those affected by HIV/AIDS; and participating in workshops, especially in rural communities.

Note: You should be in reasonably good health due to the extreme heat and conditions of transportation and facilities in Ghana. Please be resourceful because you will not have the same access to materials that you may be accustomed to, especially in the schools. Ability to plan and be self-motivated is important, as you often won't have direct supervision. It is also important to be flexible and patient, as it may take longer than you expect to accomplish just about anything.
